FDM has been contracted by CARE Nepal to conduct the endline survey of the Bezos Udaan Project, which is implemented by CARE Nepal in Surkhet district of Karnali Province, Siraha district of Madhesh Province, and Kapilvastu district of Lumbini Province, Nepal. The program aims to support out-of-school adolescent girls from marginalized communities in Nepal through an accelerated learning approach that integrates academic subjects with critical life and leadership skills. The program has established 47 Accelerated Learning Centers, benefitting 850 out-of-school girls aged 10–19 years. The Udaan Centers play a pivotal role in bridging educational gaps by ensuring that these girls acquire foundational literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills. In addition, the project emphasizes family engagement and systemic support through advocacy and collaboration with local governments and education officials to achieve its objectives.

FDM will conduct the endline survey for the first and second cohorts of the Udaan program in Siraha and Surkhet districts. The study will assess the program’s effectiveness in improving learning outcomes, school retention, and the development of life skills among participants. Furthermore, the survey will contribute to measuring key PIIRS indicators related to improved learning outcomes, increased access to education, and enhanced self-efficacy among adolescent girls. The findings will also inform future project implementation strategies, policy decisions, and recommendations for scaling the Udaan Accelerated Learning Curriculum across local and provincial governments.
