Baseline evaluation of Empowering Her: Advancing Women’s Economic and Political Leadership for Climate Resilient Communities project

FDM has been contracted by Oxfam Nepal to conduct the Baseline Evaluation of Empowering Her: Advancing Women’s Economic and Political Leadership for Climate Resilient Communities project. The project has been designed to strengthen women’s economic resilience and political leadership in the face of climate change. The objective of the baseline evaluation is to assess women’s current economic status, participation in climate-resilient income-generating activities, and access to financial services; to understand the current level of women’s engagement in political processes and community-level decision-making and to gauge the community's awareness and attitudes on gender-based violence, discrimination, and unpaid care work. FDM has adopted a mixed-method approach for this assignment.

Study area: Kanchanpur and Rautahat district

Quantitative sample: 1,200+ women

Qualitative sample: 47 KIIs and FGDs
